    Join us for a high-energy 5-day camp designed to sharpen your game—on and off the court.
    Athletes will receive elite basketball skills training led by Greg McKinney, Basketball Director at AmeriSports, and dynamic speed & agility training led by JaCorey Shepherd, former NFL player and founder of ShepUp Performance Center.

    Each day begins and ends with powerful mindset sessions focused on building confidence, leadership, and life skills.

    Monday: Assess skills, warm-up, fundamentals, and competitive shooting games

    Tuesday: Focus on offensive techniques, spacing, drills, scrimmage, and team strategies

    Wednesday: Defensive fundamentals, drills, team concepts, and scrimmage emphasizing defense

    Thursday: Advanced skills, basketball IQ, situational drills, and competitive gameplay

    Friday: Skills review with 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 games

    • Conclusion Conversation: At the end of the week, we’ll gather for a wrap-up discussion to reflect on the skills learned, growth achieved, and goals for the future.

    • Camp T-shirt: Camp participants will receive a specially designed, exclusive t-shirt as a keepsake to commemorate their experience.

    NOTE: We will break for lunch each day for our July Camp. Please ensure your athlete brings their own lunch. If they forget, our concessions will be open for them to purchase food.

We push players to unlock their full potential through progressive drill work that builds up to more advanced basketball moves, helping them excel for the upcoming season.

    These camps are meant for athletes who are hungry for growth and prepared to elevate their skills. If you're ready to work hard, learn fast, and challenge yourself, this is the place for you. But if you're looking for an easy camp with hand-holding, this isn’t it. Get ready to push your limits and make the leap to the next level of play!

MEET THE COACHES

  • Niki played the AAU circuit for 6 years on one of Indiana's top programs, including playing on several state championship and national participant teams. Received AAU's Epitome award, the highest individual recognition at the AAU level.

    Niki was a 4 year starter at Delta High School. Still holding the single game scoring record as well as the career scoring record at Delta. She is a 2 time Delaware County player of the year, and Indiana Basketball all-state first team senior year.

    Niki played 4 years for Butler University, team captain Jr and Sr year, Captain and only Senior player on Butler's conference champion team and only Butler WBB team to play in the NCAA tournament. She was then inducted into Butler University's Hall of Fame in 2022.

    Niki has coached and mentored basketball players of every age (youth-college aged) for over 30 years.

  • Greg McKinney is an esteemed Basketball Director and youth basketball coach with over 8 years of experience coaching players in Louisiana and Texas. Currently, Greg serves as the Basketball Director at AmeriSports Rockwall, where he leads the development of the program and trains players to excel both on and off the court. Throughout his career, Greg has coached both recreational and competitive tournament teams at various levels. His passion for the sport led him to establish his own youth basketball organization, where he focused on creating a positive and supportive environment for young athletes to thrive.

    As a seasoned coach and trainer, Greg has honed his expertise in developing key basketball skills, including shooting, ball handling, and basketball IQ. His comprehensive approach combines technical skill development with strategic understanding of the game, ensuring that each player not only improves on the court but also gains a deeper understanding of the sport.

    Greg is known for his ability to tailor training to each player's unique needs, fostering confidence and discipline. His dedication to helping players reach their full potential makes him a valuable asset to any athlete seeking to elevate their game. Whether coaching a beginner or preparing a player for higher levels of competition, Greg’s leadership and experience are integral to shaping well-rounded, successful players at AmeriSports Rockwall.


  • Founder of ShepUp Performance | Mindset & Athletic Development Coach

    Coach JaCorey Shepherd brings elite athletic experience and a passion for youth development to the AmeriSports team. A Texas native and University of Kansas alum, JaCorey was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 and also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers.

    Following his NFL career, JaCorey founded ShepUp Performance, where he focuses on helping young athletes grow both physically and mentally. His training emphasizes technique, control, and personal development—anchored in the belief that “everything starts with a thought.”

    Through his mindset-first approach, JaCorey teaches resilience, confidence, and leadership that extends beyond sports and into life. His philosophy aligns seamlessly with AmeriSports’ mission to develop the whole athlete.
